David,
I wanted to send you a note to let you know
that I how things are going. Our one year
anniversary is almost here, I can't believe it. We had a
hard first few months getting used to each other.
I thought many times if we weren't married I
would have just cut my losses and left. I can see
that if we would have lived together before we were
married that's what would have happened. I read a
book about the power of a praying wife (I
actually read it four times) that helped so much. God
changed my attitude through prayer and I can see
changes in Mike as well. I learned that instead of
getting upset and fighting sometimes it's best
just to go to God first. This was really hard for
me because I'd rather cry and call my family or
just confront him, but God really handles it
better.
The last several months have been great. We
are getting along well and seemed to have found
compromises to settle our differences. I know why
people say marriage is the hardest thing to do,
but I think it could be the most rewarding at the
same time. We haven't missed a Sunday service
together unless we were working and we've even found
a home group that we attend when possible. We
volunteer in the nursery and help with other church
events.
I want to thank you for all your help and
guidance through my life, I wish we lived closer
and could keep up. I will always appreciate you
marrying us and I just wanted to let you know how
things were so far. We hope to move next summer
near Royse City, so we'll be closer to you. I hope
everything is going great for you and Debra and
you guys have a great summer.
Love ya and God Bless, Dacy
P.S. Keep us and our unborn children in your
prayers.
